This piece is masterfully crafted using the traditional Sommerso technique where a brilliant ribbon-like core of vibrant emerald green is beautifully suspended against a crisp white casing. The fluid, organic lines stretch upward into a dramatic, sweeping rim that captures the freeform space-age modernism of the 1950-1960’s.
It has exceptional density that anchors it on any surface. The base is completely ground flat and polished to a crystal-clear sheen.
Unsigned as is customary for Venetian glass, it relies on its shape to tell the story.
Size: 6.5”
Circa:1950-1969
There is minor age-appropriate shelf wear on the polished underside of the flat base. I believe I can feel two minor flea bites on the base.
